Can't use loyalty points on anything?

Discussion started by tarrell

Hey all. I have a decent amount of CGTrader loyalty points built up after I got a ripped off on a model but I honestly haven't seen the piggy bank icon show up for any models I search for (and with the site constantly having sales I don't know when I'll ever see it). Some models even say I could save using CGTrader points but there's no option to use them when I'm in my cart. Am I missing something? Thanks!

Found this in the "Help Center" link below.

You can spend your Loyalty Points when purchasing models participating in the Loyalty Program (they are marked with a piggy bank icon and show a discount you will get with your Loyalty Points). Points can be used if the total value of your cart is equal to or greater than $15. They will be applied automatically and will cover up to 30% of the price.

So if the artists of the models you want, don't participate in the Loyalty Points Program, you don't benefit.

I appreciate your response but this doesn't address my issue. I get how it works but I'm seeing virtually no models that have the icon.

My last sentence addresses your question. It's obvious that few or almost no artists want to participate in that program...or at least no artists that make what you are looking for. That program seems to only benefit customers and CGT, since the artists participating in that program give a discount to customers that buy a lot of models, but not necessarily the models of those artists that participate in the program. So if the customer buys models from artists A,B,C,D and E which offer no piggybank icon, Artist F, who participates in that program, has to give a discount to the customer. I think it would make more sense that the customer could get a discount on multiple purchases from the same artist. This way everyone wins...the artist, the customer and CGT.

I think you're really missing something, when i browse the models on cgtrader, i see like 90% of sellers are participating in loyalty discount program.

I see models on discount for sure but they're part of site wide sales and not the loyalty points. Is the piggy bank in the corner the only way these are shown? Can participating models be filtered in search? I still don't' see any when I search for cars, buildings, monsters etc.

I really think it depends on what models you are looking for.

Maybe, i don't know, i see discounted models literally everywhere and i'm struggling to think of specific category, or models type on cgtrader that would contain virtually no discounted models as expressed by the OP, but who knows, maybe it's possible to carefully craft keywords in such a way that search result would end up of full priced models only. On the other hand maybe there's some bug in cgtrader that prevents certain buyers to see discounts? In that case contacting the support would be the sure way to clarify things.

The odd thing is that it doesn't appear that you can search for those "piggy bank " models. Perhaps my eyesight is failing me, but the only place I see the "piggy" icon is when you click on a model, and it opens up similar models on the bottom of the page. Perhaps it's my browser, but even when I open up the model with the "piggy" icon, it does not show that icon on the model page.

@tarrell, @TazMan2000 when there's no site wide sale events like at the moment of this writing, then any discount you see is loyalty program discount. If you add such model in your shopping cart, you should see loyalty discount points automatically deducted from the price.

I don't see piggy bank icon either, except in similar models as it is mentioned by TazMan, this could be yet another UI issue, but the discounts themselves should work correctly. If that's not the case, then you should contact the support, as it's not something that site users could help you with.
