What model formats can be imported into Sketchup Podium?

Discussion started by embarc

Hello,

I want to use some CGTrader models, particularly plants, in my Sketchup Podium models. What file formats are compatible? Does CGTrader convert purchased files into a Sketchup-recognizable format?

Thanks,

CGTrader offers a variety of 3D models, including podiums and plants. Let’s break down the compatibility and conversion details:

Podium Models:
CGTrader provides 1,186 3D Podium models that are ready for animation, games, and VR/AR projects.
These models are available in various file formats, including FBX, OBJ, MAX, 3DS, and C4D1.
If you’re specifically looking for Sketchup-compatible podium models, you can explore the SKP files section on CGTrader2.

Plant Models:
While CGTrader doesn’t have a dedicated “plants” category, you can find various plant-related models by searching for specific keywords (e.g., “tree,” “flower,” “shrub,” etc.).
Similar to podium models, plant models are also available in formats like FBX, OBJ, MAX, 3DS, and C4D.
However, Sketchup’s native format (SKP) is not commonly found among the available plant models on CGTrader.

File Conversion:
CGTrader does not automatically convert purchased files into Sketchup-recognizable SKP format.
If you need a model in SKP format, you can request a file conversion by selecting the option labeled “Request free file format conversion” on the product page3
