Want to participate in the challenge? All you have to do is to prove that your fantasy and professionalism is a more powerful potion than uranium or the famous deadly spell Avada Kedavra that was used by Lord Voldemort against Harry Potter.
Let your childhood beasts leave the wardrobe or get out from under the bed. Call all the 3d people and creatures like fairies, elves, goblins, dwarfs, owls, wizards, hobbits, witches, lizards, unicorns, centaurs, mermaids, princesses, giants you have ever read about to wake up from the book pages, to step off the TV screen (like a hulkbuster 3d model, anyone?) and to awake from the life of being a plush toy. In order to qualify for the prize winnings, you must agree to terms & conditions.
Submission deadline: September 15, 2013, 23:59:00 PST
- 3D Character Challenge will run from the 2nd of August, 2013, to the 15th of September, 2013
- All entries have to include "characterchallenge" tag to be eligible for the challenge.
- Only 3D character models will be eligible to participate in the challenge. Character is defined in a broad sense, and can include animals, sculptures, and objects that convey a character.
- The challenge is open to everyone, including teams and legal entities.
- Participating in the competition and uploading downloadable 3D models to 3D model website CGTrader platform is free of charge.
- All the entries must be original and not derivable.
- Employees and relatives of CGTrader and sponsor teams are not allowed to participate in this challenge.
- Any existing taxes or duties must be paid by the winner. CGTrader is not responsible for any illegal actions taken by the prize winners.

What character 3D models are eligible for the challenge?
Characters that are eligible for the challenge are defined in a broad sense starting from humans, animals, sculptures that convey a plot or a story to sci-fi, fantasy characters like robots, aliens and others.
I have already published some of my character 3D models on CGTrader.com. Are they eligible for the challenge?
No. Only 3D models uploaded in the period from the 2nd of August to the 15th of September 2013 will be treated as valid entries.
How will you judge entries for the best 3d character portfolio award? What is more important: the quantity or the quality of uploaded 3D models?
Both factors are highly important. For example, an author who submits a huge library of 3D models will have more chances to win. But the uploaded models must be of a high quality. Only exceptional models can win.
Do free 3D models participate in the challenge?
Yes, absolutely. Sharing artwork is always appreciated in the community.
Can I sell my 3d models which participated in other challenges elsewhere?
Yes. There are no restrictions on publishing and selling your models elsewhere.
Do price tags play any importance when entries are being judged?
No. But do not forget that the prices are always judged by the customers.

I want to participate in the challenge so I am going to delete my already uploaded models and upload them again to meet the "publishing period" requirement. Can I do that?
No. We are tracking every deleted and uploaded model, so it is useless to drive-through our requirements of the challenge.
