This 3D model was originally created with Sketchup 8 and then converted to all other 3D formats. Native format is .skp 3dsmax scene is 3ds Max 2016 version, rendered with Vray 3.00 ARGO NAUTIX Algae Star- Ecological Polar research and discovery ship This ship is powered by wind power as well as biodiesel. The ship generates its own biodiesel in a refinery by the use of an integrated algae farm. The driving range is therefor unlimited. Additionally it can actively sail using the two Flettner- Thom-rotors which use the Magnus effect. These rotors include the algae farm too, placed at the Thom rings. The ship has a high ice class and may take up to a thickness of 1.5 m ice breaking. A floating dock can accommodate boats. In addition, the ship has a garage, a helicopter landing pad and hangar, different cranes, a diving bay for marine research and various research institutions. The ship is powered by generators that act on two electrically azipods. A retractable 360° Azipod at the bow keeps the ship at place during operations. The model comes with full interior! Check out the floorplan layer too. This model was done for my friend Sarah H., a skilled polar explorer.
