The airplane is a customization of an original factory 2-seat Lazair II aircraft made by Ultraflight of Port. Colbourne, Canada. The aeroplane was actually custom-made for the movie by the film studios. They used more powerful engines than the standard stock engines with electric starters on this plane. In fact, it now hangs in the ceiling of a restaurant (owned by the company) in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
