The files are named according to the class.\n\nThe T and S-class were two classes of submarines built by the Royal Navy prior and during the second world war. Both classes saw extensive service in the war and were the backbone of the submersible fleet.\n\nThe T-class was built during the 1930s and replaced an older, aging class. 53 units were built, with four of them serving in the Royal Netherlands Navy. Several groups were built over the years, implementing several design changes and improvements which had been gained. HMS Thrasher was a ship of the second group, being built under the war emergency programme with several changes having been done to the design. Out of the seven ships sent into the Mediterranean, only Thrasher and Trusty returned. Her catch during the war however was slim. 20 sailing vessels and four coasters were written to her name until the end of the war. She was scrapped in 1947.\n\nThe S-class was a type of submarine designed for the coastal waters of the European theatre. It became the biggest class of submarines built for the Royal Navy, with 62 units being constructed in 15 years, 50 of them being improved versions which were built during the war.
