The servo uses a 775 36V 9000rpm brushed DC-motor wich is driven by a BTS7960B motor driver wich is controlled by an arduino mega 2560. The stall torque of the servo is about 55kg/cm wich is about 5.39 Nm. the peak current is about 18 amps when using a 6s LIPO battery (about 22-24V). the reduction ratio is 1:30. I originally wanted to use some 20mm ball bearings for the outputshaft but they didn't arrive in time so I ended up using two 20mm holes and a lot of lubrication. For the intend of filming the internals of the servo for possible faillures, I printed some collored gears and lasercut a 5 mm acrylic lid. Unfortunatly I didn't get to film any awsome footage of gears exploding because they were far to strong ;-). Even at a peak torque of 54kg/cm they didn't show the slightest form of flexing or cracks. The two middle gears (blue and red one) use a stainless steel shaft of 6mm diameter. The holes of the gears are designed at 6.2mm diameter so they would fit nicely around the 6mm shaft but some additional filing/sanding might be required. The original one had a gear ratio of 30:1 and the speed of the output shaft was about 715 RPM which made it difficult to tune in the right PID parameters. This new version has a gear ratio of about 162:1 which lowers the speed and increases the torque of the output shaft.\n\nI choose to go for double helical gears on this one because they produce a lot less noice than regular spur gears and the forces on the teeth are transferred more gradually. The gears rotate around a 6mm stainless steel shaft which is lubricated with bearing grease. Ideally all the gears should have some bearings, this is being considered for the next moment. Unlike my previous design I used 2 20mm bearings to support the output shaft.\n\nThe servo uses a 775 36V 9000rpm brushed DC-motor which is driven by my Universal Morion Controller (UMC)(\nhttps://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4245315\n). The stall torque theoretically is about 297kg/cm, I was able to test the servo to a torque of about 132kg/cm. During testing none of the gears broke, they were all printed in PLA. The weak link in this design however where the mounting tabs and the bevel gears used in the first stage on the motor shaft. It has a speed of about 25 mm/s on a 9V battery and draws about 1.7 Amps of curent. The motor is rated for 36 Volts. Running the linear actuator on a 36 Volt battery will increase the speed of the actuator. The transmission is a belt driven one wich uses a GT2 timing belt and a 3D printed GT2 pulley, This may not be the most ideal transmission for this task but it'll do for some testing. The linear actuator uses an M8 thread to convert the rotating motion into a linear motion. All parts (except for the 120 teeth pulley) are printed with a 1 mm nozle because there is no high accuracy required and it goes a lot faster. Some people are sceptic about using a 1mm nozzle but I think it's good for printing large objects like these without the need for accuracy. Upon closer inspection, I observed that the wall was collapsing towards the back of the machine and 'recovered' once it reached a larger mass section giving the appearance of a shift.  I fixed this one with a dremel and some ABS glue.  \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\r\nWhen it came time to print its mirror sister in pink, I tried adding in some gussets to support the wall that had collapsed.  I used 4 of them evenly spaced.  It worked quite well.  Sorry about the blurry pic.
