Then you came to the right place.**\n\nIf you wanted to spice up your train layout, printed all that can be found on the internet, you perhaps thought about adding a new dimension - bridges!\nOf course you can build elevated layouts by gently raising the tracks, plate by plate, hoping that you can reach a few inches in height in a couple meters.\n\nIf you have the space in your room, that is.\n\nIf you don't, or just want your train to ride higher, try these carefully engineered parts!\n\nYou'll get:\n- a set of short bridge elements - these work okay with shorter cars\n- a set of long bridge elements - these work with longer cars\n- a cap piece that has a sloped top to support your bridge\n\nBoth the long \u0026 short parts will get you a slope that's about 8 degrees steep, and raises the track by 2 bricks' height for each LEGO straight piece (see the pictures).\n\n# Building instructions\n\n1. Take the bottom bridge part. For the short version, grab 2 support caps; for the long version, grab a 2x4 brick in addition.\n\n2. Connect a LEGO straight track to the elevated end of the bottom bridge part, and mount the support caps under the connection; for the long version, add the 2x4 brick under the support caps.\n\n3. This is because I had to redo the design a few times, but I kept some of the usable older parts so that I can build higher!*\n\n# Building instructions\n\nOn the photos, you see a left-wind spiral, with support columns on the inside.\nYou can do a right-wind spiral too, just put the columns on the outside.\n\nSo you'll need 4 of each kind printed for one full turn. The parts are numbered, but it's even better if you printed them in different colors.\nWe'll be building upwards. Follow these steps (check the instructions picture too):\n\n1. Take two curves, and connect them with a #1 under them.\n\n2. Take a #2 with a DUPLO plate under it. Put them under the higher end of the two previous, then connect a third curve there.\n\n3. Take a #3 with one DUPLO brick under it. Again, put them under the higher end of the three previous, then connect a fourth curve there. From here on, the instructions will repeat.\n\n4. Take a new #1, and put two DUPLO bricks more than you had under the previous #1. Connect these to the higher end, and add a new curve.\n\n5. Take a new #2, put two DUPLO bricks more than you had under the previous #2, and a plate. Connect these to the higher end, and add a new curve.\n\n6. Take a new #3, put two DUPLO bricks more than you had under the previous #3. Connect these to the higher end, and add a new curve.\n\n7. Repeat 4-6 until the next #1 would be right over the very first one.\n\n8. From here on, regardless of which number is the next, just put 7 DUPLO bricks on the piece under, and a simiar piece on top \u0026 a new curve.\n\n9. Repeat until you can.\n\nThe parts on the photos were made of noname PLA on a Prusa MK3S, 0.6mm nozzle, 0.30 mm layer height (with -2C ambient temperature and 130% feed rate).\nYours will be much nicer.\nBeware of thermal contraction \u0026 printer tolerance though - even if the models are designed precisely to the microns, your filament \u0026 printer might trick you. LEGO (and injection molding) has much lower tolerance than 3D printing.\nI was lucky (?) because the PLA I used seemed to give the right 'clutch' with stock DUPLO parts. Maybe print one piece first, and see if it works well with your DUPLO - if not, adjust scaling a tiny bit.\n\nSupports are not necessary.
