So I don't blame anyone for not wanting to pay what I had to charge for it. Production cost was too high, nobody was willing to pay what it would have to cost retail.\nI boxed up the units I had produced and moved on to other projects and more or less forgot about it for about a year.\n\nThought I might as well post it here since it won't sell physically.\nIt is really nice though.\n\nComes in 5 pieces that puzzle-piece together. Print in TPU of course. The main body that the steam deck rests on needs a minimum build plate size of 255x255mm, and has to be printed diagonally. All the rest of the pieces should fit on most printers.\n\nI was going for premium feel on this design, the perfectionist in me.... It includes a spot to rest the steam deck face down without messing with any controls or the screen, it fits like a glove.\nAbove that you have the component pad, to organize components as you remove them, where they will be safe from accidentally getting knocked off the table or lost. Above that is a kickstand feature for the steam deck back plate. To the left and right are docking stations for all your standard iFixit tools (the ones I modeled it for are in the photos), also including a slot to store your SD card while you are working on your steam deck.\n\nThen below where the steam deck rests you have 4 screw trays, each with a cavity beneath to place an embedded magnet. Pause print the layer before it seals the cavities, place a small drop of super glue in each one, then a magnet in each one.\n\nSometimes smearing a small amount of super glue on top of the magnet also(use gloves of course), helps the TPU stick to the magnet as it continues the next layer when you resume print.\n\nThere are also squares where you can place stickers to remind you to remove the SD card so you don't break it off removing the back plate. Obviously I have the custom stickers that I was going to send with the printed product, but you can source those yourself or not. Totally optional.\n\n3D printing settings\nUsed disk shaped neodymium magnets sized 15mm diameter and 2.8mm thick.\n\nCan't remember what settings I used. Mostly standard bambu lab profiles I believe, printed in 95a TPU from overture. I used the hilbert curve on the top surfaces to get that textured pattern.\n\nWall thickness depends on how spongy or firm you want it to be. Infill also will affect firmness. Gyroid usually works best with TPU.
