Mechanized Spider and Scarabs

Mechanized Spider and Scarabs 3D print model

Description

A collection including a mechanical spider model and 3 different scarabs.

The models showcase a sea of scarabs with a mechanical spider stepping overtop, and include small details to show that the spider is actively releasing more from a hive in its abdomen. The three smaller bases include clusters of scarabs walking over each other in different poses. Also included are some individual scarabs walking or jumping to be added wherever.

The spider model comes in three forms, one as a whole, two as a model split just enough to be printed on a photon, The third is completely split into a seperated head, abdomen, 8 legs and back half composed of 3 parts. The individual legs are marked with a L or R and 1-4 on the inside of the joint so that one can easily build the model in the original pose, or however they would prefer.

I've recently added a set of addons for the spider, including a variety of individual mechanical arms able to be fit to the underside, a large gem being held by similar arms, and a dual beamer weapon meant to fit onto the rear of the body.

Would love to see a single scarab added to this, so we can make our own bases for the scarab swarms!

Thank you very much, I have always wanted a "Sci-Fi Spider". It is printed, painted and sitting on my table right now for tomorrows game.

Model looks great but the supports are in places where they need to come out and are extremally hard to reach

Arguably better than the GW models, but man, DO NOT use the supports they give you. The gall of putting such thick all over the wings and other delicate surfaces is honestly a little staggering. They don't need a ton of support, they aren't that heavy and the included ones do damage that no amount of sanding and touching up is ever going to fix. My only other gripe is that it's not easy to get those legs on without breaking something because the holes didn't print big enough on any of my 4 attempts to print it right. I ended up just assembling everything in the slicer and that gave me the best result I've had. Oh, I also have no idea how I'm supposed to get the gun attachment on, like, I'm pretty sure I know where it goes, but good luck getting that thing on without also putting it together in the slicer. Idk, maybe I'm just not getting something.
