Nids are harmless spider-like enemies exclusive to Kremwood Forest from Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. They have a good jumping ability and have rideable platforms on their backs. Some hop in curved arcs, while others jump straight up. There are two types of Nid. Yellow Nids constantly hop, while purple Nids only start hopping when someone jumps on their plank. Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong must be careful when utilizing a Nid as it can cause the Kongs to end being knocked into an enemy, in most cases a Buzz.

Yellow Nids do not appear in Donkey Kong Land III; only purple Nids remain (although because of the graphical limitations, he really has no true color). Other than that, the Nids' purpose has remained the same.
