DESCRIPTION

In the year 1119, nine French knights, led by Hugh de Payns, embarked on a historic mission: to protect pilgrims traveling to Jerusalem after the First Crusade. They offered their services to King Baldwin II of Jerusalem, who granted them a place in the Al-Aqsa Mosque as their headquarters.

There, in the Holy City, the legendary Order of the Temple was born, also known as the Poor Knights of Christ and the Temple of Solomon. Their objective was noble: to protect pilgrims from attacks by bandits and Muslims, and to fight for the Christian faith in the Holy Land.

In 1129, the Knights Templar received official recognition from the Catholic Church at the Council of Troyes. They were granted the rule of Saint Bernard, adopting the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. His distinctive white cloak with a red cross became a symbol of courage and faith on the battlefield.

The Knights Templar quickly expanded throughout Europe and the Middle East. They received donations of land and money, becoming a powerful military and financial force. Their activities were not limited to war: they also managed banks, properties and participated in international trade.

The history of the Knights Templar is full of fascinating events, from their heroic participation in the Crusades to their mysterious dissolution in 1312. Their legacy lives on in popular memory, fueling legends and myths that still capture the world's imagination today.
