Composite materials consumables kit

Composite materials consumables kit 3D print model

Description

You want to start making composite materials stuff (carbon fiber and epoxy, glass fiber and polyester resin, carbon-kevlar...), you'll need this kit. Mostly useful for wet layup and infusion processes.

It includes a lot of consumables that you'll need along the process:

  • Splinter remover / hair remover / dust remover. During the lamitation, use this to remove any contaminant from the resin/fabrics. Once cured, you'll be able to peel the resin off the printed tool easily. -Flat and T-Shapes connectors for resin infusion: Comes in 1/2, 5/8 and 3/4formats. Use these connectors between your feed line and the part. Flat conenctors are used directly over a feeding mesh (small parts) whilst T-connectors are usually used to connect the feeding line to a spiral feeding tube for larger parts. -Squeegee. Print it in TPU for a better use, but can be printed in any other material. Use the squeegee to spread the resin and remove air bubbles -Air remover : Brush / roll air remover can be used on flat surfaces. Simply print the 2 parts and click them on. Works better if you use some kind of lubricant between the pin and the hole. Be careful though to not contaminate your layup! -Corner Air remover : Works the same as the air remover above, but is used in tight corners. Allows the aire to come through the laminate and out. Print hte handle, the roll and the safety pin. Assemble the roll on the handle, secure it by placing the pin inside the hole of the handle, and you're done. -1/2 feeding line clamp. Once the infusion is done, simply clamp the feed line thanks to this clamp. It need to be place over the feed line prior to start the infusion process -Demolding shim : Can be scaled up to fit your projects. To get a grippy shim, print it flat. If you want to have a smooth surface shim (to avoid scratching the parts and molds), print it sideways. -Sanding block. Simply print this block to help evening out the sanding process accross the part. Works best if using auto-adhesive sanding sheets.

Hoping it'll get your composite parts manufacturing a little bit easier :)
