Catapult from Transformers The Movie

Catapult from Transformers The Movie 3D print model

Description

Phew, this one took a little bit of time to put together but here is it - a working version of the catapult from Transformers: The Movie!

Inspired by Springer's loading of the catapult from the rear (whilst proclaiming his full social calendar), a loading chamber features was also designed into this piece. The way it works is when empty, you'll need to load two rounds, so the second missile will push the front missile forwards and upwards onto the catapult's rails (may need to fidget it a little sometimes :)

The missiles themselves have a standard 5mm peghole on the back which allow for siege effects to be added on. So it's fun to even just 3d print a whole bunch of them for display:

This model may be a little confusing to assemble, so here attached also is a helpful guide showing how the pieces go together. The shooting action is powered by a rubber band which notches onto the front post, stretched and tied off onto the circular hole on the bottom of the bow part. Where there are peg holes, 5mm rods can be used to connect everything together.

Here's a short video of it showing the features and how it all comes together - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3lfXK9eCM0

Have fun 3d printing and putting this one together! =)
