Lotus Flower Puzzle 3D print model

This is a simple puzzle that forms a Lotus Flower when completely assembled :-) It begins with the base(.stl) and the leaves can be stacked on that to form the Flower.

For people who want more challenge there is an option 2 :-). They can start with base OPTION2 partA. With option 2 its much harder to assemble the Flower because the leaves 7 have noting to rest on but must be kept in place by the weight of the other leaves.

Have you chosen for option 2 but wished you just printed the base.stl? Then just print base OPTION2 partB instead to make the puzzle easy again :-). See the included screen shot for a better impression.

Of each leave there are six. In this screen shot leaves 2, leaves 3 and leaves 4 are depicted in red and white. Leaves 1 are white and leaves 5 red. Leaves 6 & 7 are depicted in green.

That makes 43 peaces to make the puzzle complete. Of course If you went with option 2 there are 44 peaces :-)

Then there is an OPTION3 & OPTION4 for the DIY people :-) These bases have wiring holes included. You could change this puzzle into a Lamp by printing the parts in Translucent material.

This Model is FDM printer tested with an 0.4mm Nozzle and 2mm resolution without support material at 100% size. I did use a Brim for leave7.stl but it was not necessary after all (in my case) It works but with this Nozzle size the smallest you can go. If you have a bigger nozzle its recommended to scale up the model a bit. If you want to scale down the model its better to use a smaller Nozzle size. The size of the completely assembled Model is 213,248mm x 219,394 mm and 107,933mm high

Great design, Great idea to turn it into a puzzle with options for lighting! On the informative side its more of a trial and error since there is not a lot of info on printing settings, here are my advice for future buyers: *Edit: For those like me who has a moving bed, (especially for piece 1-2-7) might need supports enabled at at least 25° angle, because of the jerking of the bed... and if your software allows it, use the Support Blocker on the upper part of the support because the ending of the supports are very hard to remove. Make sure the PLA you are using the proper heat setting (ex.: my glow in the dark was doing nice petals at 210° while my dark blue was warping outer walls, giving a ugly look, until I set that up to 215°). (doing a black/blue/glowing Lotus) Using 45mm/s for infill speed and 30mm/s for wall speed. Each petal took me between 14mins to 1h30, depending of its need and size. It will be the perfect Valentine Gift :)
