Recently, I have been developing a very similar design for my model railway club's new OO layout.
This design is ideal if you want a retaining wall at the back of your platform as a scenic break or have an upper road at the back of a station. This design has been modelled around a platform that is 19mm high.
This is a brick design of a retaining wall that can easily be printed on an FDM with minimal supports. Supports are only required for the arches. The sections are 150mm long by approximately 120mm high, and all sections are designed to fit together for perfect alignment using the tie. As this is modular, you can make the wall as long as you require.
Platform is not included.
These items have been designed at 1/76 scale but can be printed at other scales.Primarily, these items have been designed to be printed on an FDM printer, but can also be printed on a Resin Printer.designed at OO gauge, 1/76.2 scale.for HO gauge print at 87%, 1/87 Scale, for O gauge UK at 175%, 1/43.5 Scale, for O gauge International print at 158%, 1/48 Scale, for N gauge print at 51.49%, 1/148 Scale, (Caution: I have not printed this model in N gauge so can’t guarantee its printability)
For smaller scales like N gauge I would recommend resin more as you will get a better resolution on the bricks.
Design was tested on a Bambu Labs A1 / A1 Mini with a 0.4mm nozzle. I used a layer height of 0.08mm. The smaller the layer height is, the better the brick definition comes out.
