Money Clip Tripod
I’ve created a money clip that is also a very light duty tripod. It will hold my Sony RX-100VII. The mark VII is the heaviest of all the RX-100 cameras at 302 grams. So anything around that weight it should be able to hold.I’ve used PETG-CF (carbon fiber) for strength. But, if you have a stronger material I would use that. The stronger the better.
After printing you will need to install 2-3M 3mm heat inserts for the other two legs. These two inserts are installed in the center section, you will see the two holes for the locations of the inserts. These go along with 2-3M 8mm tapered head screws that are screwed through left and right sections into the heat inserts.
The ¼ - 20 tripod screw prints in place and you print a separate nut for setting the attitude of the camera. For rotation you just twist the whole tripod to where you need it. It is light duty so be pretty gentle when screwing in on to your camera. It’s very easy to over-tighten and break the screw; at least with the material I printed mine.
I’ve included two versions, one version has space for at the ends of the legs for two TPU inserts for each leg to be slide in and secured with CA cement. I was hoping it would make for slightly more secure (sticky) pad at the end of the legs of the tripod. The inserts are included as well.
I would suggest printing it with the screw at the bottom ot at a 45 degrees at the bottom (see the pictures).

Have a great day,
