Ripleys Pet by SPARX 3D print model

While looking for references for the Element Fire I stumbled across a few pics of Ripley and an Alien not actually killing each other . .and I was HOOKED! So here they are in a loving mood . . enjoy. Alien 15 pieces plus a separate head more suitable for FDM print. Some joints are slot/pinned and others are a ball/socket design to allow you to easier join/lime up parts. Ripley 3 pieces an easy construction, join both legs then attach torso of choice. 3 torso variant’s with this one . so take you pick before construction. .

All of the parts are orientated to print base ready to print with your favourite slicer . .
All parts are cut files to fit build plate of small resin printers like the Photon, examples in images SLA orientated for least support and strongest print orientation, as seen in the images. These orientations work for FDM printing but you may find a better orientation that reduces support. There is no base as the model is designed to stand on its own when fully assembled. All the parts have been printed and developed to print, A lot of prints have been produced to get the figures corrected and fault free. The model is 1/6 scale and is 320mm to top of Alien head. Ripley 303mm making her 1.82mtrs tall in real life . . ! Why cut into many smaller parts I have been asked?

1. If you try and assemble this, then paint it . .it would be nearly impossible to get into all the areas especially between Ripley and the Aliens chest, head etc. . !
2. Smaller parts not only allow for Resin print at full scale, but also allow individual parts to use less supports than one larger part on FDM printers
3. As I design/sculpt I already have in mind how it will split into parts and design these as I go. Trying them in slicers to see the effect of the design on supports. So now you know! ************************************************************************** TIPS: Do not hollow Alien Vents, centre back horn or tail partB. If printing Resin. All other parts where hollowed at 2.1mm in Resin printing. All parts FDM were print tested at 0.16 speed 50 ALWAYS dry assemble and “trim” parts prior gluing. Completely assemble Ripley 3 parts. Assemble Alien except head and left arm. Paint all parts. Fit Alien head through Ripleys right arm and it should rest into place on cutout in Ripleys head. You can now glue Alien head to Ripleys head. Now position the Alien head on its body and position Ripley in such away she is vertical left leg. . . . and the Alien is leaning forward . .. Now position the Alien left arm in socket and onto Ripleys Thigh, when you are happy you know the correct position’s of these parts you can glue into position.

For all the model is very high poly count and can be scaled up and down . .these settings and tips above relate to the actual size of the parts, as you can see from the pictures this prints very well and I believe you will be pleased with the result when completed. All of my models are only released when they can print! so please do not remix or fix faults in this model then republish!
