This 3D reconstruction digitally revives Slab 28 from Sennacherib’s throne room in Nineveh, a lost relief widely understood to depict the Assyrian army facing Jerusalem during Hezekiah’s reign. The scene shows a massive double‑walled hilltop city split across two ground levels, crowned by a citadel where a single royal figure stands on the tallest tower holding a standard, a unique motif strongly associated with kingship and often identified with King Hezekiah himself. The city remains intact while the Assyrian troops withdraw, visually echoing Sennacherib’s claim to have trapped Hezekiah in Jerusalem “like a bird in a cage” rather than destroying the city, making this reconstruction a powerful candidate for the earliest surviving image of Jerusalem.Join the community on Facebook: “Print Your Museum – 3D Printed Archaeology” https://www.facebook.com/groups/862838313343526
