These are about as accurate as you can get to the original factory part. I have also added a modified one with a hole for an anti roll bar and strengthened it accordingly. I have printed these in Polycarbonate and ASA, both of which worked really well. The ASA looks a little more proffessional because its not as shiny and it may be better for RC use as it has better impact resistance. I printed these flat, raised of the bed by 3mm and as shown in the photos standing up on their end both worked without issues. Drill out the holes for the connecting pins either end of each wishbone with a 3mm drill bit and run it in and out a couple of times, it shouldnt be so tight you have to force the pin through. I would run an M3 tap in the holes for the shock mounting. Many hours of creation have gone into these parts, it took a year to CAD design the whole car in my spare time. Hopefully these parts will be of use to somebody, as you can see from the photos it is totally possible to 3D print and CNC cut 90% of the car. Other screw holes are set to 2.7mm for a self tapper but dependant on the filament used you may need to heat the screw a little to prevent cracking. I usually put the screw in boiling water for 2 minutes and then carefully screw it in. Once the threads are cut you should be able to back the screw out and put it back in with no issues. I printed this in CC3D polycarbonate and didnt have to heat anything at all but when I printed it in ASA I had to heat the screws. That said, ASA although not as strong as Polycarbonate does have almost the impact resistance of ABS. I have been printing the gear type diff (Parts 1 and 2) and using optima mid internals or Spider TF2 internals in my ZXR's which works with no issues. \nI havent managed to print these successfully on an FDM printer because i found the teeth to be too shiny and round for the belt to run on without slipping. I use an Elegoo Saturn to print these in ABS like resin and four M2.6x12 screws to hold it together. I put a fair bit of teflon grease on the gears first. Raise each part off the bed and manually add support on all flat surfaces. \nPlease see my other files for other Kyosho Lazer parts, the whole car with the exception of one or two pieces will be uploaded in pieces and there will be a single download with all files as well. I also have other parts for Schumacher, Serpent, CEN, Yokomo and many others that I will eventually upload as I have time. Heat the screws before inserting self tappers, the rear deck mount has three 3.5mm holes which need to be tapped with an M4 tap. The pass through holes in the rear wishbone mount need to be drilled out with a 3mm drill bit. The rear wishbone mount is best printed on its side ive found, use plenty of support and heat the screws in the holes that use self tappers. You will have to play around with the positioning and figure out whats best for you, what works for strength and accuracy. You may have to dremel a little to remove supports in bearing seats with some printers. The 6 top mounting holes are set at 2.5mm but are supposed to take an M3 screw. In the original part you would let the screw cut a thread but to save the part from cracking you either want to drill it out to 2.7 or 2.8mm and then tap it with an M3 tap or heat the part and the screw in boiling water and go for it very carefully. You could just drill it out to 3mm and then put a nut on the end of the screw if you arent bothered about it being slightly different to standard. You will have to try a few different things to get them to work best for you. Print them SLOWLY or they wont be perfectly round. Best filament for these is either PA12 or PA6 Nylon as ive found, you can print them in ASA as well but the wear may be poor. Avoid polycarbonate as its too smooth and shiny and the belt tends to slip. I have also printed these from ABS like resin on my Elegoo Saturn 3 which works really well but its up to you to try a few different things. \nYou may need to file the end of the internal teeth into a point if making them from resin as they may crack when fitting otherwise. All of these parts have been measured with a digital vernier caliper and recreated here for those with the equipment and tools to be able to replicate. I cannot promise theyre perfect so I would make a test piece first and check bearing fit etc, before you commit to running a few off the machine. I don't yet have a 5 axis cnc and im willing to bet a very few people reading this will have so ill leave it up to you whether you want to give it a go. \nI have inlcuded the template of the slipper pads so if you need to cut yourself some from a sheet of material the included PDF file is what you will want or you can maybe use the STEP file or STL for your lazer engraver and cut yourself some pads?\nI have included drawings of all the other parts too incase you have the experience and the machinery to create these parts from them. The spline drive on LAW4, LA6 and LA7 has 10 grooves equally spaced.\nI believe the one way roller bearings for LAW4 and LA7 are 8mm OD, 4mm ID and 7mm wide or 6mm wide will probably also do. These bearings are supposed to be a tight press fit.\nFeel free to download and share these files, create the parts and sell or give them out if you're that generous!
