Toilet, latrine, closet, latrine or WC (English: water closet) can refer to household equipment whose main purpose is as a place to dispose of waste, namely urine and feces.
In everyday Indonesian usage, the term toilet or WC is actually more often used to refer to the room where the equipment is located, although it can also refer to the equipment. Other terms, namely the restroom or the back room can also be used in Indonesian to soften the pronunciation, and are only used for the room of the equipment. Meanwhile, the terms toilet, toilet, and toilet itself are usually only used to refer to the equipment.
The terms toilet and peturasan are rarely used in everyday usage in Indonesia. Toilets can direct both the device and the room, and are often used in Malay. Peturasan refers more to a place to urinate,[1] because the root word turas comes from the Javanese language which means urine,[2] therefore it is considered a synonym for urinal.
