A Lamp Navigation on a ship's deck is a crucial component of maritime safety and navigation equipment. Also known as navigation lights, these lamps are strategically placed to provide visual signals to other vessels, aiding in the identification, position, and direction of the ship, especially during low visibility conditions or at night. The primary navigation lights include red and green sidelights, indicating the port (left) and starboard (right) sides of the ship, respectively, as well as a white masthead light, sternlight, and an all-around white light. Each light has its specific color, intensity, and arc of visibility, as per international regulations, such as the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs). These navigation lamps play a crucial role in preventing collisions, ensuring smooth maritime traffic, and upholding the safety of crew members, cargo, and other vessels navigating the vast seas and waterways.
