USS O'Bannon was commissioned in 1942. Most of this class saw service in World War II and some also served during the Korean war and against Vietnam. This scale model is highly detailed. Armament and features varied over the course of time and virtually no two ships of the class were the same. Most of the salient features can be animated. This 1944 configuration has a total of 15 20mm Oerlikon anti-aircraft guns, 10 40mm Bofors anti-aircraft guns, 5 5-inch deck guns, 10 torpedo tubes, and depth-charges both aft and amidships. Length 376'6, beam 39'4, draft 17'9", speed 35 knots, crew 329 men and 60000HP below decks.
