DESCRIPTION

1998 Jeep Wrangler, Custon Design, Islander

Modeled and Textured By: Gregory Harrington

High-Poly model, PBR, OpenGL

hand-painted in Substance Painter

Description:This is a 1998 Jeep Wrangler but customized to look like a 1989 Jeep Wrangler Islander. I saw some references of someone customizing their Jeep Gladiator to look like the Jeep Wrangler Islander. It looked like fun so I decided to do a variation of it.

Important Note: The interior is not fully detailed in this model. The windows are tinted black so I made low polygon seats, steering and a rear view mirror. I then just put a black shader on it to mimmick the shadow of an intererior through the windows. I didn't want the model and the textures to become too dense as I wanted it to be easy to work with. The interior is only in the .ma and .mb files as they don't have textures. If you would like an interior for this model feel free to contact me.

Textures; 2048 x 2048, OpenGL

Substance Painter file is included with the package. Feel free to change or do your own texture work if you would like changes.

Main Maps included:

BaseColor, Roughness, Metallic, Height, Normal, and Opacity

Additional Maps:

Car Paint Wear Mask, Decal Mask, Front Window Dirt Mask, Tire Text Mask

The additional masks are available for shader blending purposes.

For example:

Blending non-reflective dirt on the windshield while the windshield is still reflective.

Blending less reflective wear on the body of the Jeep.

Brightening the decals on the body of the Jeep.

Brightening or darkening the tire text on the tires.

This can help add realism to your render.

The windows are utilizing opacity maps from substance painter.

It is recommeneded to use separate refractive settings for a realistic glass look.

PBR textures unfortunately do not offer refractive maps to mimmick real world glass.

The settings for this varies in different render engines.

Maya Scene:

I have included my Maya scene in .ma and .mb formats.

It includes a few Arnold lights for:

Headlights, Fog lights, Tail Lights, and Blinkers.

The Maya Scene also includes all of my shaders that are blended together using the additional masks I provided.

These Shaders are utilizing Arnold's Standard Shader as this render engine comes free with Maya.

3D Printing:

I have included an .STL with this package. It should be noted that I have not tested it with a 3D printer. I modelled this Jeep to real world scale and I modelled all of the parts individually. There is a lot of detail in this model so please print at your own risk. In theory, it should print fine but the undercarriage has axles and parts that might need some sort of bridging technique. If that seems difficult you can 3d print it in seperate peices if it gives you any trouble.

HDRI:

I am also including an HDRI from Polyhaven. It is important for me to note I am not the author of the HDRI. The license is public domain, CCO license so it is free to use with how you please.
