Description
GE-1 (Shch-EL-1, originally YaG № 1, then Ge1 and Yue002) is one of the first two operating mainline diesel locomotives in the world. Built according to the project of engineer Ya.M. Gakkel. The world's first diesel locomotive with a wagon carriage. The author of the body project, as well as the detailed study of the undercarriage (carriage), was the chief engineer of the Putilov plant, professor A. Raevsky.
