This accessory became widespread in lowrider culture in the late 1960s and early 1970s, with the introduction of the Sony VCA-1H car TV antenna. Popularly, this Antenna was nicknamed Rabbit Ears, because of the specific type of antennas themselves. Rabbit Ears are especially prized by Chicano lowriders of all time.
