Over 800 unique low-poly objects (buildings, nature and set-dressing objects) for use in games, film or 3D printing*
Each individual model is very low poly and suitable for any purpose but not recommended for extreme close-up viewing. Texture sizes are very small and should be suitable for any purpose.
These modes and textures are derived from models found in the Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2 (2006) RTS video game however they have been heavily modified and in many cases fixed in order to work with current software.
Blender files have been provided both with and without packed textures for convenience. FBX and OBJ files have been provided both with all models in one file and the models segmented into 7 parts in case the all models file is too large to load for some people. STL files have been provided for each individual model.
Textures are generally in DDS format natively so conversion to a more standard format may be required for certain applications. DDS can be read without difficulty in Blender however Maya users may need to activate the ddsfloatreader.mll plug-in to work with these files.
*The majority of objects are not well-suited for 3D printing as they are segmented pieces of larger objects (for example, the walls of Erebor) and others would need minor adjustments. I would recommend checking the model to make sure the one you want to print is a solid model and not just a facade. The models that aren't built for printing can be easily modified with 3D software to enable this ability.
