DESCRIPTION

For as long as I remember, I always had a certain fascination for makeshift or otherwise uncommon mobility equipment (maybe it's the improvise-adapt-overcome factor). Wheelboards especially come to mind here, what with the freedom of indoors movement something as primitive as a square wooden board with four swivel wheels attached to it can provide.

And yet, despite the documented real-life examples of physically impaired people having to rely on such a construct, this particular thematic beat remains heavily under-explored to my liking, and I understand why. After all, wheelchairs blow those things out of the water any time of the day from a functionality standpoint.

Still, the mounting frustration with such under-representation has prompted me to roll up my sleeves and try my hand at modelling and texturing my own wheelboard design, complete with handshoes. Now available to the community for use in their projects.

Very cool model. Great work! As a mobile-able citizen, it’s all too easy to take mobility for granted. Thanks for sharing this!! I expect it will further impact my understanding of the physically impaired. Respect & gratitude!!
