This statue is located outside the biggest and most important mahavihar called Hiranya Varna Mahavihar. This mahaviahr is unique because unlike other mahavihar this is bigger and has a three-storey golden pagoda of Shakyamuni Buddha which was built in 12th century by King Bhaskar Varman.
