EVERYPlant Spiny Scale Tree SINGLE --1 Model-- 3D model
Name: Spiny Scale Tree
Scientific: Lepidodendron aculeatum
About this Package: This package contains only a single model of a plant in good health, fully mature, and in full, year-round foliage. This package is intended for the budget conscious buyer in need of only a single version of the plant. This same species can also be found in 12 seperate variations containing various models representing different stages of maturity, health, LOD and other details; look for them in the EVERYPlant store. The exact plant variation in this single package is unique and cannot be found in any of the other package.
Habitat: Extinct tree-sized, tree-like plant from the Carboniferous Period to the late Triassic (about 360 to 205 million years ago).
Range: Fossils have been found extensively throughout the world.
Notes: Though superficially it resembled a tree, this plant was most closely related to modern quillworts, meaning it wasn't a true tree. As it grew its central stem eventually split into exactly two branches, and then each branch further split into exactly two more as the plant continued to mature; further dichotomical branching occured until the plant reached full maturity. At the ends of its branches were oval-shaped cones. As the plant grew it shed its lower leaves which resulted in the scar-pattern found on it's stem and branches which gives it its name of scale tree.
Included in this Package: 1 model only of a mature, healthy plant.
Re-meshing available upon request, eg adaptive mesh for lower poly count (this is the default setting and is as supplied), uniform mesh for easier editing, strict quads, tris, mixed, poly increase or decrease, etc. No charge to existing customers of the product.
Many other modifications to models also available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product.
The textures included in this pack are mainly 4k (4096x4096) to cater for detailed renders, this is the default map size and is included in each of the file format download files, no need for seperate downloads. However these may be slow to load or render on some system and may not be necessary in all situations. To allow for this, medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures are also available and may be downloaded alongside the various model formats. Different texture sizes can simply be swapped in or out by copying the Maps sub-folder; no need to manipulate the materials in your editor. Please use whichever best suites your system and needs.
EVERYPlant has a mission ... which is to model every plant species in the world (plus some extinct, fantasy and sci-fi variations as well)! Okay, maybe not every plant, but at least the identifiably different species which have at least a common name! Want to keep track on how that's going? You can find the details at our facebook page.
