Notes:The Red Silky Oak is a tall spreading shrub, sometimes small tree, that has nothing to do with the real oaks. The flowering happens for most of the year, but particularly in winter and spring. While the shrub form is more common in the cultivated varieties, the small tree form is easier to be found in the wild, except along the coast where the shrub form is predominant. The beautiful and almost constant flowering has made of this species a favorite of home gardens.
