EVERYPlant River Red Gum LowPoly 09 -- 6 Models Low-poly 3D model
Name: River Red Gum
Scientific: Eucalyptus camaldulensis
This Variation: LowPoly 9 of 20
Habitat: Prominent tree of riverine systems, whether alongside permanent water-sources, or seasonal.
Range: Native to Australia. Widespread throughout the continent, especially beside inland water courses. It is a very popular plantation species that is grown the world over. In many countries, it has escaped into the wild, where it is a prolific invasive species. The tree has been unintentionally introduced to North America, Europe and Asia.
Notes: This is an iconic Australian tree and the most widespread and abundant on the continent. It can very quickly grow to 45m. These trees have a habit of dropping large boughs (often half the diameter of the trunk) without warning giving it the nickname 'widow-maker'. This form of self-pruning may be a means of saving water or simply a result of their brittle wood.

EVERYPlant has a mission ... which is to model every plant species in the world (plus some extinct, fantasy and sci-fi variations as well)! Okay, maybe not every plant, but at least the identifiably different species which have at least a common name! Want to keep track on how that's going? You can find the details at our facebook page.
