It was developed from the C-97 Stratofreighter, a military derivative of the B-29 Superfortress used for troop transport.\u003c/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eUsing the same wings, stabilizer and tail as well as engines as the B-50 the Stratofreighter and Stratocruiser had a large diameter fuselage.With a range over 4000 miles it was truly a long range airplane, making travel around the world possible.
