3. Pindad SS2 V4 A1.fbxSS2 or Assault Rifle 2 is an assault rifle made by PT Pindad which is the second generation of the previous Pindad assault rifle, SS1. SS2 is claimed to have a more ergonomic design, resistant to high humidity, lighter, and better accuracy. This rifle uses standard NATO 5.56 x 45 mm caliber bullets and has an empty weight of 3.8 kg, as a note the initial SS1 variant had an empty weight of 4.01 kg. In 2006, the Indonesian Army purchased 10,000 SS2 rifles. Initially available in three basic versions (standard rifle SS2-V1, carbine SS2-V2 and para-sniper SS2-V4) is now also available in the subcompact version SS2-V5, which was introduced in 2008.
