3D Printed Sony MDR 1000X bracket 3D print model

Description

So I decided to design the entire bracket of the Sony MDR 1000X headphones because the plastic is very fragile on them and broke on a regular use.

FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR A GOOD RESULT!

You have to print the parts with rafts and supports. Infill is 100% and I printed at 25-35mm/s speed. PRINT ON A SIDE! Set the parameter Support Z distance (in Cura) which is the distance from the top/bottom of the support structure to the print a little bit lower so it will act like a stabilizer (they will be glued together a little bit) After you finish to clean the supports, sand a little bit the clips that connect the parts to each other. Try to assemble them once before you mount them on the headphones. To lock the screws better in the plastic I used a thread lock paste. Take in consideration that the walls of the parts are a little bit thicker to be stronger than the original !!! Last picture shows how the model should look on the build plate after is sliced.

I also added the step, igs files if you want to make some changes to the parts.

Hi! Was looking for bracket 3D model for sony headphones and only one I found is yours one. I looking for a WH-XB900N model and it's look like this one, but not exactly. Is there is a way you to remade this model, so it fits for mine also? I would definitely buy it for that price. Can help with a pictures or even scan with any mobile soft. I found on ebay ready printed brackets from centralsound, but they selling pair for 40$, and it's really overpriced for that model, you can buy used headphones for that price. you can check out video on their page to compare model with yours ones. Although it looks very similar to original, it's not optimized for 3-d printing and printed parts are fragile in certain areas due to too areas being too thin.

Seems to be robust. The fit was not perfect between the two pieces on each side but maybe that was more due to my friends 3D printer rather than the model. Also, attaching the pieces to each other took quite some force but maybe I was doing it wrong or maybe it's just required. Anyway, it's been used for a few months now without any issues.
