Candela Table Lamp

Candela Table Lamp 3D model

Description

Fire powers LED lights in this innovative piece inspired by traditional Scandinavian oil lamps. Fuelled by plant-based bioethanol, a natural and renewable energy source, the Candela produces enough energy to power not only the LEDs but also charge a phone. The Candela's refillable aluminium canister houses a ceramic fibre wick, topped with an aluminium powder coating to ensure years of use. When lit it creates a smokeless flame that heats a series of plates, creating a temperature difference that powers the twenty-four LEDs in the base.In using this early 19th-century discovery to create a contemporary lamp, designer Francisco Gomez Paz connects the past and present to create a versatile lighting solution that is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
