Alicante is a port city in the southeast of the Costa Blanca, the capital of the province of Alicante. The old part of the city, Barrio de la Santa Cruz, is notable for its narrow streets, colorful houses and nightlife. From here, you can take an elevator or steps to the medieval fortress of Santa Barbara on top of a mountain, which offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean coast.
