This Dalek version is from the early 1960s, the design that started it all and got Dalekmania going throughout the 1960s. This design was first seen in the first serial The Daleks from December 1963 and used a few more times and last seen in 2015 in  The Magician's Apprentice/The Witch's Familiar when many variations of Daleks can be seen.  \n\nThis design is the most familiar design that has been used throughout the 21st century, and the one most newer fans can recognise. \n\n**Why is it worth buying it?**\n\nI love Doctor Who and have been watching it since the mid 2000s, starting with the modern before quickly watching the classic era. I know how the Daleks look and move, and this is reflected in these designs, from watching many hours of the show, and collecting various items and references to reflect this design. \n\nAs someone who is somewhat a perfectionist in creating realistic models, I do so by making sure I spend many days on the finer or large scale details this model has, based on a wide variety of different gramophones reference material I found online, and taking elements from one or two of these references, making sure it distinctively my own. It's also important to make this model as real as possible in terms of dimensions, materials used and overall appearance so it can be appreciated whether it's viewed up close or from a distance depending on your project. \n\nViewing CGtrader, gramophones are very popular, and I understand that, because having them in a home, means a music lover or someone who loves style. So what makes mine different? I believe the big difference is I wanted the model to look modern and antique at the same time, with realistic looking materials. \n\nThe key to making it this realistic, is to not only have some realistic poly count, but include a number of smaller and less noticeable additions. These additions style using nodes include: \n\n- Scratches,\n- Dirt/mud,\n- Bumps/Imperfections \n\nOne of the major factors you should buy is that I provide two versions in Blender, \n\n- Procedural texturing (using Principled BSDF with multiple tree nodes) and \n- Baked texturing using 4K baked textures (all in separate folder - see below for more details), \n\nI do this to ensure you have the choice that you feel comfortable with, whether you love the model but want to make small changes to the overall textures using the nodes provided to suit your project needs, or leave the baked textures in place where you can use the model in your project as is. \n\nIn addition to this, if you don't have blender, this project contains various project file formats to use in various other 3D Programs and these details can be seen below.\n\n**How can it be used?**\n\nThis model is for the fans of Doctor Who, and can be used for their large or small scale fan projects, whether it's animated or placed in the real world.  \n\n**How the file system works and what is contained within **\n\nWithin the downloadable folder/s, I have included two different blender folders, one indicating its procedural and the other baked. \n\nWithin the Procedural Zip Folder (Modern_Dalek_Procedural) you will find a file called (Procedural_Texturing_Dalek_Modern) all the textures/materials are included, using a wide variety of procedural nodes. This will mean you can modify any of these nodes, to suit your own preferred taste/style specific to your own project needs. This Blender file will suit any level of experience as the node layout is quite simple and easy to follow.  \n\nHowever, for those who want the ease and comfort of downloading the file without worrying about making changes, all the textures are baked within a separate folder called textures with each texture containing at least 4 different texture layers in 4K (4096 x 4096). \n\nThese include:\n\n- BaseColor \n- Metalness\n- Normal and \n- Roughness\n\nEach object/part within this project, their four texture layers (as mentioned above) are contained in their own folder. This can be found under the Blender File (Dalek_Modern). To use correctly just download the texture ZIP file, (included within are separate material/texture folders with the names closely matching to the different objects within the blender/other file).\n\nAs well as these two folders which are suited for blender users, I have also contained a separate folder for those who prefer to use other 3D programs. This folder is called Other Files. Alternately I have provided an STL file for these, however do bare in mind the time it will take to sand and finish printed versions.\n\nIncluded in the files are some pictures of the 'Eye stalk', 'Plunger arm' and 'Gun Arm' in order to assist with tube lengths and the spacing of components.\n\nI have successfully printed every part of this model on a FDM (Filament) printer. No parts should require support.\n\nEvery part is supplied as a separate file.\n\n\n**K9 MkI \u0026 MkIII**\n\nI was able to take measurements from the actual prop in order to make this as accurate as the real thing!\n\nThe model itself is 180mm from nose to tail at preciesly 1:6 scale.\n\nThe files even include interchangable 'nose laser' for an extended or retracted look.\n\nInterchangable 'eye probe' which again can be posed in the extended or retracted position.\n\nI was even able to talk with the prop master for the show in 2006 who shared with me detailed pictures of the inner workings of K9. As such, also included is a very detailed and accurate insert of the inside of K9 which can be seen after removing the side panel.\n\nThe removable side panel intself is designed to house 1x2mm magnets on the four corners which will hold it in place. I know how the Daleks look and move, and this is reflected in these designs, from watching many hours of the show, and collecting various items and references to reflect this design. \n\nAs someone who is somewhat a perfectionist in creating realistic models, I do so by making sure I spend many days on the finer or large scale details this model has, based on a wide variety of different gramophones reference material I found online, and taking elements from one or two of these references, making sure it distinctively my own. It's also important to make this model as real as possible in terms of dimensions, materials used and overall appearance so it can be appreciated whether it's viewed up close or from a distance depending on your project. \n\nViewing CGtrader, gramophones are very popular, and I understand that, because having them in a home, means a music lover or someone who loves style. So what makes mine different? I believe the big difference is I wanted the model to look modern and antique at the same time, with realistic looking materials. \n\nThe key to making it this realistic, is to not only have some realistic poly count, but include a number of smaller and less noticeable additions. These additions style using nodes include: \n\n- Scratches,\n- Dirt/mud,\n- Bumps/Imperfections \n\nOne of the major factors you should buy is that I provide two versions in Blender, \n\n- Procedural texturing (using Principled BSDF with multiple tree nodes) and \n- Baked texturing using 4K baked textures (all in separate folder - see below for more details)\n\nI do this to ensure you have the choice that you feel comfortable with, whether you love the model but want to make small changes to the overall textures using the nodes provided to suit your project needs, or leave the baked textures in place where you can use the model in your project as is. \n\nIn addition to this, if you don't have blender, this project contains various project file formats to use in various other 3D Programs and these details can be seen below.\n\n**How can it be used?**\n\nThis model is for the fans of Doctor Who, and can be used for their large or small scale fan projects, whether it's animated or placed in the real world. My previous version can be used as a static model or for basic animation, this version has been updated where I have created controllers (not rigged) for easier control for animations. These include :\n\n- Head\n- Eyes\n- Ray Gun\n- Pluger\n- Overall Dalek Movement \n\n**How the file system works and what is contained within **\n\nWithin the downloadable folder/s, I have included two different blender folders, one indicating its procedural and the other baked. \n\nWithin the Procedural Zip Folder (60s_80s_Dalek_Procedural_Model) you will find a file called (Procedural_Texturing_Dalek_60s_80s) all the textures/materials are included, using a wide variety of procedural nodes. This will mean you can modify any of these nodes, to suit your own preferred taste/style specific to your own project needs. This Blender file will suit any level of experience as the node layout is quite simple and easy to follow.  \n\nHowever, for those who want the ease and comfort of downloading the file without worrying about making changes, all the textures are baked within a separate folder called textures with each texture containing at least 4 different texture layers in 4K (4096 x 4096). \n\nThese include:\n\n- BaseColor \n- Metalness\n- Normal and \n- Roughness\n\nEach object/part within this project, their four texture layers (as mentioned above) are contained in their own folder.
