DESCRIPTION

I created this female cyborg character 'upper bust section' in Blender 2.91. I originally started using a free base character mesh as a reference, then practiced creating my own human character just to see if I could do it. Most of my 3D models and artwork focus more on the stylistic side and less functional. I am a big fan of the abstract style of 3D art and I wanted to create something in a cyberpunk style. I have exported the character in .fbx, .obj, and .stl formats as well as uploaded the original .blend file for anyone who might want to easiy edit this model as desired. I hope that the different reference screenshots of the model within Blender are able to show all aspects of viewing angles. I used color.adobe.com for the simple generic color pallet. I searched for 'cyborg' in the explore section and picked the colors you see in the screenshots.
I started out wih the base mesh, then duplicated it, and used a decimate modifier on the duplicate. Then I added a wireframe modifier to the decimated duplicate as the second layer. I then made another duplicate of the base mesh, added a subdivision surface modifier, applied it, then did a random selection of faces to add to a vertex group. I then used a displacement modifier on the vertex group to make those faces expand outwards away from the base mesh. I repeated those steps a couple more times, choosing different random faces to get different displacement levels. I'm fairly satisfied with the results and will use that techique in other 3D projects on different models. This model isn't exactly 'low poly', but not really 'high poly' either.
