Few jarls on Skellige enjoyed such respect and authority as old Donar an Hindar. Despite his advanced age, he still held the position of leader of his clan, representing it at all official gatherings. The only person who could unsettle the old warrior was Lugos the Mad, with whose family he had an old feud.

The seat of the Hindar clan was, like Freyja's temple, on Hindarsfjall. Donar, as befits the goddess's neighbor, was known for his wise, measured opinions and piety. His respect for religion did not, however, extend to the gods of the continent, whose rich temples he used to plunder in his youth.
