Medusa

Medusa Low-poly 3D model

Description

A character inspired by Greek mythology about Medusa, a beautiful maiden who was turned into a gorgon with snakes for hair as punishment by Athena after being desecrated by Poseidon in Athena's temple. I wanted to create an unconventional Medusa who is serene rather than angry and monster-like with her hair slick and flowy, as opposed to a messy bundle of snakes which would be more common. The snake hair feature detailed scales, eyes are detailed and lifelike. Some snakes have their mouth open and tongues extended. The texture image sizes vary (8K for a human body and 2K for snakes). There are 5 different colour maps for snakes that you can choose from. Use one of them, or mix and randomize them using the node in the shader (in .blend file only). The human and snakes share the same glass shader in the material in Blender file. You may need to fix the transparency in your software if you choose to download FBX or OBJ file.
