Titanosaurs (or Titanosaurian, members of the group Titanosauria) are a group of sauropod dinosaurs that, along with the better-known Brachiosaurus, belong to the clade Titanosauriformes. The name comes from the Titan character in Ancient Greek mythology.
The members of the titanosaurs were among the heaviest and largest land organisms that ever lived on Earth. This group includes fairly well-known members such as Saltasaurus, Isisaurus and Paralititan. Also included in this group is the largest land animal that ever lived, Titanosaurs were the last group of sauropods to live before the extinction event. They were the dominant herbivores of their time.
