McDonnell Douglas MD80 Air Boston 3D model

Description

This model is built very near to actual scale in real units and based on real dimensional information, drawings, photos, and other documents. It has many animateable features including: turbines, ailerons, flaps, elevators, and rudder. Landing gear can be retracted into the bays and doors closed, tires can be animated. It comes with all textures and materials and is downloadable in many formats. This model is a medium polygon model with a good level of detail. It is available in several different formats. The model was developed for use in gaming, or video animation and use as in scenes with an exterior view only. It is best in a flight mode or as an aircraft model populating an airport scene. These models render very well and look very realistic using good animation and rendering technique. Exported formats are prepared well to work correctly with every standard modeling software. This model was not designed for 3D printing.
Liveries are based on actual service liveries. Many of the countries who flew the plane are represented here. Model is fully textured with all materials UVW mapped and applied. Most materials are planar mapped and major materials include texturing. All textures and materials are included as shown, 3ds Max models are grouped for easy selection, and objects are logically named for ease of scene management. No cleaning up necessary, just drop your models into the scene and start rendering. No special plugin needed to open scene.

The McDonnell Douglas MD-80 is a family of twin-engine, short- to medium-range, single-aisle commercial jet airliners in service all over the world. The MD-80 series was lengthened and updated from the DC-9. The airliner family can seat from 130 to 172 passengers. The MD-80 series was introduced into commercial service on 1980 by Swissair. The MD-80 was an efficient, safe and reliable aircraft for its time and well liked by the crews. Many airlines flew or still fly the MD-80 series of airliners.
