The Saab SF-340 was a Swedish twin-engine turboprop aircraft designed and initially produced by a partnership between SAAB and Fairchild aircraft. Originally designated as the SF-340, the aircraft first flew on 25 January 1983. When Fairchild left the aircraft production business in 1985 after completed about 40 units, Saab continued aircraft production under the designation Saab 340A. After sales declined into the late 1990s, the production was cancelled in 1998.
