The whole February new uploads from old and new members of our design community were flowing like a stirring stream in early spring. Two days ago we just hit a pulsing boundary of 10’000 models. Everything is getting better and better: our 3D model collection is renewed with a variety of fresh ideas.

Surprisingly, the most popular shape of February was not a heart. Actually, there were just a few Valentine-related models. But this is another topic. Today CGTrader team has a piping-hot top of the Best 3D Models of February for you. All of them are different in terms of realism, particularity, techniques, and inspirations. Grab An Inspiration: 30 Most Photorealistic 3D Renderings

Some people like to highlight that all the glorious art has already been created. Those who say so perhaps forget to count in the endless possibilities of 3D design. Today movies can be filmed in a quarry of stone and 3D designers will add the turquoise sea, verdant pinewood and a surreal house on the shore.

The audience could suspect a house being improved using 3D design technique. But it is much easier to bribe with a landscape selling a matte-painting as the real one. Moreover, 3D designers are passionate to confuse questioning: “What do you think: is this a photograph or the art of 3D?”

This phenomenon is called photorealism. It is like a magic wand that brings a fantasy into the life while is used by a skilled artist. Obtaining render which is indistinguishable from a photograph became the Holy Grail of 3D design since 1960s. The target in this work is to reach perfection. In this particular case it means to imitate the reality to the smallest dots. It requires high level of attention even to the rarest details.

So we want to share our thorough list of the highly professional 3D artwork of photorealism. Hopefully, it will give you new ideas and inspire for the masterpieces.

Best 3D Models of January

Colourful New Years’ fireworks and sparkling wine…Seems it was a day before yesterday. But somehow more than one month has already passed by. Despite all the feast pleasures, our designers did not face any lack of inspiration.

So the good news is that CGTrader again represents the best 3D models of a month. Our New Year promise is to do it steadily. So we looked through the objects uploaded in January and evaluated them in terms of aesthetics, technique, level of realism and creativity. It was not that easy to choose only 10 best objects. But after some soft discussions a compromise was reached…

We are eager to share the positive feelings we had during this summer. In addition to being truly happy about the growing community of CGTrader, we noticed how noticeably designers of 3D models develop every day.  More realistic, original and high-quality models have been uploaded, so prepare to meet the best 3D artists and their models of the previous month.

 

Squir

Tomasz Rozkosz is a talented artist and one-man show under the brand Squir. Over 1500 3D models of cars, motorbikes, trucks and everything that is related to vehicles can be found on his web site www.squir.com and he is one of the leading professionals of CGTrader online store, considering both quantity and quality.  He claims his warm feelings to cars and probably this is the reason why he is one of the best 3D vehicle seller on the Internet.  We are proud to have such a professional in our community.

Humster3D is a team of talented professionals who create models in more varied categories such as vehicle, furniture, electronics etc.  There are more than thousand high-quality 3D models ready to be downloaded and some of them are so good, that can`t be ignored.

 

codethislab

The following two 3D artists we want you introduce to are gathered to a company called codethislab. They’ve got some high quality rigged and animation ready 3D characters suitable for high-definition images. Moreover, they have made this nice croupier woman rigged and equipped with facial expressions. Good job!

 

Panaristi

A great pleasure for military fans. Panaristi continues to upload variety of equipment created to carry out military tasks. Vehicles above were used by the German Africa Corps in the WWII and Panhard PVP – UN Version from the French light armoured vehicle. As always, realistic and detailed enough for close-up renders.

 

CGShape

Let`s go back from war to sports. CGTrader offers you to to download a pack of realistic, fully detailed 3D models of sixteen Rigged NFL (American National Football League) players by cgshape. Official match ball also included. What is more,  high resolution textures, PSD template files and TTF fonts included for every part of the uniform gives an ability to customize or even create your own teams! It is quite hard to tell the difference between these 3D pictures and photographs. Rose_studio has really made a terrific work. However, we believe that it would be more efficient if the author would use specific names or descriptions of the buildings instead of numbers within the headlines. For example, if the building in the image below would be called “Chinese palace building exterior” instead of “Building A 17 3D model”, users who need specific examples of Chinese architecture would find and purchase this 3D model just after few clicks in Google.

 

AJ_Trax

One more woman and one more military character. Model has such features as 3 sets of character textures, individually rigged armour components, high-resolution textures and other great characteristics convenient for gen game engines, for example. AJ_Trax demonstrates an advanced level of 3D modelling.

Net3d

Last but not least – Net3d. Another fan of Eastern architecture who delivers the most professional products. Suggests 3D models ideal for photorealistic visualizations that include great geometry, materials, textures and multiple file formats.

Top 5 3D Models of Week 21

Last week was yet another week with the highest traffic at CGTrader, biggest number of sales, and we are extremely happy that more and more CG artists are joining us to expose their artworks.

To celebrate that, today I will be overviewing Top 5 3D models uploaded last week. They are ordered by the upload date, as we could not decide on which ones are the best.

Chapel 02

Pumper has created one more beautiful artwork and put it on sale at CGTrader. This beautiful minimalistic chapel makes me a believer and invites to come in, go upstairs and ring the bell! Well made, Pumper.

Human Head Male Anatomy

CGShape has already uploaded many models of human anatomy, but this one is a full complex. I could pretend I’m a biology professor with this one.

Indianapolis Colts official game helmet

Not that I’m a fan of Colts, but these helmets submitted by EricApanowicz are really nicely made. We would love to see more models of yours, Eric ;)

M4 Sherman MK III British army

I had a difficult time deciding on which tank to feature, but precision of this one cought my eye. Once I buy a 3D printer, second thing after printing a wife is going to be my little army of Panaristi‘s tank models.

Automatic transmission

I would not be able to explain how automatic transmission works, while Panaristi actually created a full precise 3D model of it. We cannot wait to see your next works!

April Challenge Results

April was a special month here at CGTrader. Not only our library increased by over 800 3D models, a monthly traffic growth of 35% – 40% for a third month in a row, but we have also had a month-long CGTrader Challenge, where we had 60 participants!
Every new upload was entered into competition, and at the end of the month we have selected the best 3D Stock Seller and the best 3D Models for Sale.

We had a difficult time selecting the winners out of everything that was uploaded this month. However, out earlier announced criterias have finally helped us and we are excited to announce the results.

Top 10 3D Models of March

It is becoming trickier to choose models for our Top10 monthly list, as the amount of great designs we have on CGTrader is getting bigger and bigger every day. However, I’d still like to share with you all some extraordinary pieces of work that was uploaded last month. Please keep in mind that all 3D models are listed in random order and as always you should have a look at some other great works available on our webpage. Some of the models really has a chance of winning our great 3D stock challenge! I wish you all good luck!

 

Seller NONECG

Once again NONECG wows us with some great models. The author provides a wide variety of different animals, but this time I wanted to share with you this Western Horse 3D model. There is no need to even talk about how photorealistic it is! Also, the model includes saddle, reins and horseshoes, so you can use them the way it suits you better. The model is ready for rendering and you can also choose from 5 options of environment and lightening setups.

Furniture is one of the most popular 3D model designs as it can be wildly used across different industries. These Decoration Set Chairs are not only great 3D model that meets all technical standards, but also very innovative too. It just proves that nowadays great designs could be created on the computer, so designers and architects have more practical access to them. Well done sbgwoolf, we are looking forward for some more!

Well, new season of Formula 1™ started in March, so I thought it would be great to pick up some 3D model of racing car to mark this occasion. And here it comes the Red Bull racing car! This model is a great piece of work, it’s fully textured and comes with some add-on’s too (always happy to get some extras!), such as Vettel’s  and Webber’s helmets. The model was actually created by looking at this season’s F1 car, so it’s the most up-to-date racing car model. Also, CGShape offers other F1 teams’ 3D car models.

Swiss precision! The Omega watch model created by our member mukan, looks just fantastic! The watch-face and strap are so detailed, that it really feels like you are looking at this Omega watch in the store! Some technical details… The model is ready to render and comes in different resolutions, so you can choose the right one for your project.  By the way, mukan uploaded more Omega watch models on CGTrader, if you interested, please have a look.

Seller NONECG

Another great 3D model form NONECG that reached our Top 10 this month. This Adult Male and Female design has everything what you may need for your project. The pack includes full male and female body (both naked and dressed) 3D model, also some examples of clothing. It comes in different resolutions and according to the seller is just perfect for very close-up shots. Just by browsing through the preview images of this model, you can already tell how photorealistic and well made this 3D character is. Keep it up, NONECG, I believe we will see you often on our Top10 lists.

This lovely and clean Hyundai Azera 3Dmodel comes from 3dken. Perfect composition from technical as well as aesthetic point of view. The artist spent a lot of attention to the detailing, which makes this model even more desirable. It’s not the first time 3dken becomes our Top10 nominee with his cars, and we are very happy to have these models on CGTrader!

Seller 3dwizard

Forbidden and one of the most advanced piece of engineering – Concorde Supersonic airliner reborns as a 3D model on CGtrader. Very photorealistic model with some lovely add-on for us, the artist included all 5 liveries from various stages of airliner carrier. Great model to look at and this will definitely be a great complement to any of your projects.

Seller Pumper

Pumper surprises us again with this great 3D model of vintage looking mantel clock. This high in details and smart looking 3D model will look just great in any interior visualisation scene. Moreover, collection of 12 mantel clocks are also available from the seller. Now we are missing coo-coo clock, maybe next month it will appear on our Top10?

Seller mostudios

I won’t hide that I love Land Rover, but this wasn’t the reason we chose this great model from mostudios. As always, the model is neatly prepared and can be used in production without a hassle. The author gives the model in different materials, so whether you use V-Ray, Mental Ray, or Standard shading, this model will suit your needs. But what I really like, is the beautiful pastel green car paint. It really stands out of the crowd! 

 

Seller thecoolmaker

And our last model this months is this great and photorealistic model of Gibson Les Paul masterpiece guitar. The model comes in 5 different finishes, so you can choose the one you prefer better for your project and as good piece of work should be, this model is available in couple different formats to choose from.  Also, it comes with background image as well, which is pretty nice attribute to the model. It’s a shame thecoolmaker has only one model available on CGTrader, we really hope more will come shortly, as such artwork as this Gibson Les Paul suggests thecoolmaker to be a great artist.

Top 10 3D Models of February

Another month has passed and it is time to have a look at some of the highlights we had at CGTrader website. Once again, this list is based on personal favourites and it’s worth browsing around CGTrade page for even more great 3D models or just to catch some ideas for your own projects!



Seller sidnaique

Punished is truly great 3D model of the sculpture of the punished boy, looks quite mesmerising! By only looking closer at the picture we can see the amazing shadow play on the sculpture and that reveals a great deal of details of the model, such as muscles, face expression, hair etc. Moreover, the seller of this model is one of the first ones to sell 3D models that are ready to be sent to the printer. Easy and convenient!

 

Seller NONECG 

We are delighted to have such a great high quality 3D animal model collection at CGTrader website provided by NONECG. These guys give us a chance to choose from quite a variety of quality animal models. I’ve picked this wild cat just as an example of the great work NoneCG provides us with. This is the fully rigged cheetah’s 3D model and on the top of everything it includes a walk loop animation too. Can it get any better?

Seller sbgwolf 

When you think, the light bulbs can be such a common and not that ground-breaking choice of the 3D model; however, sbgwolf actually made it pretty exciting! As always, photorealistic renders and high quality work. Also, sbgwolf uploaded more than just 3D models of the light bulbs on CGTrade, if you are interested in lamp models; some great contemporary design are available too, worth having a peek!

Seller pumper 

This kind of vintage clock you could probably still see in either a very old train stations, buy it in the antique shop, or get it as a 3D model! Perfection at any level… The artist spent a great time on the details that makes this model to stand out from the rest of this kind. The rusty colour of the clock adds some more photorealistic feel to it too. Pumper shared an extensive collection of 3D clock models and we are well excited to have them all on CGTrader!

Seller LeanSaler

The moment I saw this 3D model of cookies (or crackers, really) on the CGTrader page, I thought I should get one packet myself on my next grocery shopping :) They look so photorealistic, appealing and… Delicious… What works best here is the attention artist dedicated to the details! The way colours are moving from the darker shades to the lighter, the bits of salt are pretty awesome feature too, the texture and the UV mapping of this model is just a highest standard. Seller boriscargo 

The saying that simplicity is the key to the perfection really works well in this case. This 3D model of the chef’s hat is a high quality work. As the environment and the lightning are not included into this 3D model, you can play with it yourself as the idea is already here for you.

Seller 3dken 

this high (or even – very high) on detailing, photorealistic 3D model of Toyota car is another gold piece from the 3dken. Already we have pretty big collection of cars from this seller on CGTrader and actually we can’t wait to see even more new ones! Will you make it to our Top10 next month?

And finally it’s here! Long awaited, well-known cgshape Human Skeleton Model is finally rigged, so it will be easy to animate it and to play with its positions. Even though it’s already a classic model now, I thought that this update is worth mentioning on the blog post anyway.

This 3D model of Mercedes car are right at the top of game. The way the artist plays with the environment to in-cooperate car in it is just great. According to the seller, it is easy to modify the car’s body paint and other materials, so you can add your own little touches to this model yourself. As always, great quality car models form mostudios.

Seller no3DLimits 

And the last one this month, but definitely not the least one, is this fantastic model of an ant. It is so detailed that you can even see the ant’s hair! Priceless. Really neat piece of work, the model is provided with high resolution textures.
